Ampro’s Little Board 700 is the Answer for Demanding, Power-Sensitive
Embedded Applications.

Small, mighty, and able to withstand extreme environmental conditions. That describes Ampro's latest addition to its EBX product line: the Little Board 700.

High-performance, low power, and low cost, the Little Board 700 is the perfect solution for OEMs who are looking for a rugged SBC that is economical at its volume price of $500, yet offers high performance and efficient power and heat usage, along with long-term availability.

The availability factor is crucial for OEMs in medical, military, and regulated gaming markets who often face extensive qualification and regulatory procedures. They demand boards with long product lifecycles so that they do not have to go through a painful redesign or requalification process. Because Ampro partners with only top processor vendors like Intel®, OEMs can rest assured that that they'll be able to obtain the high-quality, high-performance scalable Little Board 700 SBCs for 5 to 10 years.

Another big plus offered by the Little Board 700 is its low power dissipation The Low Voltage Pentium III processor with 512KB cache at 933MHz, offers reduced power dissipation compared to the previous-generation 850MHz Socket 370 Pentium III processor. With a power rating of 12.2 Watts, less than half of the 25.7-Watt rating of the Socket 370 Pentium III processor at 850MHz, the Low Voltage Pentium III processor in the Little Board 700 is an absolute requirement for high-performance embedded systems where the thermal design is a critical issue. Offering fanless operation up to +70°C, extended temperature to +85°C, and conformal coating, the Little Board 700 allows OEMs to migrate to a high-performance single board computer without having to compromise the thermal design of their system.

Ampro's Little Board 700 is a full-featured embedded single-board computer with a 5.75- by 8-inch little board EBX form factor. It is available with a choice of Intel® processors: The Low Voltage Intel® Pentium® III processor with 512KB cache at 933MHz, the Intel® Celeron® processor at 650MHz, or the Celeron processor at 400MHz. These powerful Tualitan-core processors offer twice the internal cache of earlier Pentium III and Celeron models. Supporting up to 1GB DRAM, the state-of-the-art Little Board 700 offers a full array of component subsystems, including thermal monitoring and advanced power management functions. An onboard Type II CompactFlash socket supports up to 1GB or more flash memory, accessed as an IDE hard disk drive. Onboard peripherals include Dual 10/100BaseT Ethernet controllers and an advanced AGP 4X video controller with flat panel support for TFT and STN LCD and digital flat panels. Digital flat panel support is provided through an onboard LVDS connector. Up to 32MB of video memory are accessible through the Unified Memory Architecture. Other onboard controllers provide AC97 sound, 4x USB, 4x full modem RS232C/422/485 serial ports and all standard PC architecture elements. A PC/104-Plus bus provides full PCI and ISA expansion capability.

Like all of Ampro's embedded computer products, the Little Board 700 is application-ready, supporting popular operating systems including: Linux 2.4.18, VxWorks 2.5.5, QNX 6.2.1, and Windows CE.NET 4.1, 98se, 2000, ME, XP, XPe. Ampro's drivers are included in the Little Board 700 QuickStart Kits and Development Systems. QuickStart Kits also provide the Little Board 700 SBC, memory, cables, documentation and other software useful to help an OEM get a jump start on development. Development Systems provide the single board computer and memory mounted on a chassis with power supply, hard disk drive, floppy disk drive and CD-ROM.

So, if you're looking for an EBX form factor SBC that offers high performance and is adaptable to a wide range of environmental conditions, Ampro has the answer—the economical Little Board 700.
